International Partnerships Programming

The Future in Focus: Advancing International Education in Times of Uncertainty

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural international partnerships stream, CBIE2025 will once again feature a dedicated program highlighting global collaboration and deepening connections between Canadian and international post-secondary institutions.

This specialized stream will include country-focused sessions, roundtable discussions, and curated networking opportunities designed to highlight international delegations. It provides a dynamic platform for exploring partnership opportunities, sharing innovations, and fostering meaningful institution-to-institution connections.

International Partnerships Day

Sunday, November 2, 2025 | 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Registration: $225 CAD for Canadian delegates (lunch provided)

As a key pre-conference event, International Partnerships Day is designed to foster meaningful business-to-business (B2B) connections between Canadian and international delegates before the conference officially begins. The day will feature two concurrent programs:

B2B Meeting Room

This space is dedicated to structured partnership meetings that facilitate one-on-one engagement and collaboration building. It is an independent activity that requires delegates to arrange meetings in advance or on site. The room will be organized with tables and seating for networking meetings. Tables for international delegations will be grouped by region, with tables for Canada’s provincial international education associations and/or provincial government representatives positioned along the sides of the room. Canadian delegates will circulate among the international delegations for B2B meetings.

There are no fixed networking time slots; delegates are encouraged to contact one another in advance or on site through the Conference App, the International Partnerships Directory, or by connecting with a Trade Commissioner (TC) for a TC-led delegation.

To learn more about participating international and Canadian institutions and associations attending this day, and to connect in advance, please visit the International Partnerships Directory through the conference app. This dynamic resource is updated daily.

Presentation Room

Showcasing select international delegations as they share insights on their country contexts, higher education systems, and priorities for bilateral cooperation with Canada. The agenda for this program is here.

Trade Commissioner Service at CBIE2025

Meet with Canadian Trade Commissioners to gain insights into priority markets, partnership development strategies, and emerging opportunities. Visit the app to book meetings with the Trade Commissioners.

Please note that the availability of Trade Commissioners continues to evolve as they manage the schedules of their delegations. You may receive notice to reschedule your requested meeting. If you are unable to secure a meeting in advance, we encourage you to connect on International Partnerships Day or visit the Trade Commissioner Room for any on-site availability.

Canada-ASEAN Roundtable

Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 2:30 pm – 4:45 p.m.

This third annual Canada-ASEAN Roundtable at CBIE’s conference will convene senior government officials and higher education leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, with distinguished guests from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). Organized in two parts, the roundtable will focus on transnational education (TNE), highlighting emerging trends, policy directions, and models of collaboration across the ASEAN region. For further details, please check the Conference Program.
