Charles-Olivier Michaud
Award-Winning Filmmaker, Screenwriter, and Director
Charles-Olivier Michaud is a celebrated Canadian filmmaker, writer, and director known for his ability to explore human transformation and identity across cultures. Born in Quebec City, he holds an international perspective shaped by extended stays in Europe and Asia, fluency in six languages, and a career spanning both English and French language film.
He wrote and directed the films Snow & Ashes and Anna, which earned him several awards and nominations around the world. Most recently, his adaptation of Kim Thúy’s novel Ru premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023.
